The American National Theatre Inaugural Season

In the fall of 2007, The American National Theatre will launch its first season with three productions, to be presented at a single 299-seat theatre in New York City. Each production will run for a total of four weeks as it appeared at the originating theatre, with the same company of performers and creative teams.

The original producing theatre will retain creative control of the presentation, including replacing personnel as necessary. The ANT will provide all technical production support and resources needed for modification and adaptation to the new space, as well as travel expenses and housing for visiting artists and technicians, and shipping costs for all physical production elements.

Beyond The Inaugural Season

During its second season, 2008-2009, The American National Theatre will present four works of new American Theatre; and in its third season, 2009-2010, The ANT will present from four to six productions. Six productions per year will be the target for each full season thereafter.

Beginning with productions presented in 2009, The American National Theatre will seek to partner with a television network to broadcast the productions to a worldwide audience and to and preserve each work in a film archive.
