Affiliate Theatres

Affiliate Theatres of The American National Theatre will be a distinguished constituency of not-for-profit companies across the country that premiere new American plays or musicals. Not only will The American National Theatre annually present a season of productions from among such new works; in its programming, promotion and outreach activities, The American National Theatre will strive to highlight and honor by name the work and activities its esteemed Affiliate Theatres.

Each qualifying theatre will be requested to remit an initial fee of $200, which will be applied against the administrative expenses associated with evaluating the first production the Affiliate Theatre submits for consideration by The American National Theatre. Thereafter, an additional Jury Support Fee of $200 shall be remitted for each production the Affiliate Theatre submits for consideration by The American National Theatre. Moreover, in any season in which an Affiliate Theatre will be presenting a new work or works it wishes to be considered, that theatre will pledge to notify The American National Theatre in advance, in writing and in a timely fashion. In addition, the Affiliate Theatre will conduct its own good-faith assessment of the work's viability for transfer to The American National Theatre, and submit the results of such assessment in writing to The American National Theatre; in specific, at least two-thirds of the work's originating creative personnel (cast and designers), including its original director, must be determined to be reasonably available for and likely amenable to participation should The American National Theatre choose to present the work in the its following season.
