Leadership
The American National Theatre’s Board of Directors has experience in all aspects of for-profit and nonprofit management, and an impressive wealth of resources to draw on in guiding the organization.
The leadership of The American National Theatre is implementing the following strategies to ensure the fulfillment of its mission, and the success of the Festival, which represents the initial realization of that mission:
Communicate a clear vision. The clarity of The American National Theatre’s vision and the originality and vitality of its mission have been lauded by theatre visionaries from across the country. The American National Theatre Festival will communicate the ANT’s mission to a broad audience in New York and nationally, through the media.
Generate strong artist, industry, and community support. The ANT Artistic Advisory Panel includes some of the best minds and talents in the American theatre. Leaders of the nation’s performing arts unions and organizations in service to the industry support The American National Theatre as Administrative Advisory Panelists. These panels continue to grow weekly. The American National Theatre is actively seeking to serve the New York community and national theatre community by building a new audience for the American theatre. The American National Theatre will strive to represent in its programming and bring its presentations to populations underserved by the performing arts industry.
Develop and implement effective business and fundraising plans. The American National Theatre’s business plan is fiscally responsible and prepared in collaboration with professional firms. In addition, The American National Theatre has developed a comprehensive plan for fundraising from individual, government, foundation, and corporate sources across the country, and has employed the professional fundraising services of the New York Grant Company.
